Working continuously for child protection and rights, Kalp, Chhattisgarh has announced a decisive campaign against child trafficking in Balodabazar, Janjgir & Sarangarh districts. The organization affirmed that with active support from the government, local administration, and citizens, comprehensive actions will be executed at the ground level to prevent child trafficking, identify traffickers, initiate legal proceedings, and rehabilitate affected children. This major announcement was made during the four-day national consultation program organized at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Representatives from over 250 civil society organizations spanning 782 districts across the country participated in this national meet. During the event, the 'National Campaign Against Child Trafficking' was officially launched, which will continue until the year 2030.
"11 Children Go Missing Every Hour"
Expressing grave concern, Abhishek Yadav, Director of the organization, shared that official statistics indicate approximately 11 children go missing every hour, with many falling victim to human trafficking and forced labor daily. He highlighted that human trafficking stands as the third-largest organized crime globally after illegal arms and narcotics trade, with women and children being the most vulnerable targets.
